My Jaguar has an unresolved issue that I need direction on. If you will, the vehicle suddenly started giving me a message stating that the key fob was not found in slot. Then it started running a little sluggish at a light one day. I put the car in park and back in drive and it was good. The alternator was replaced one year ago with the factory Bosch battery ($350). I drove the car one day and when I got out of it and went to lock the doors and there was no power. I gave power to the vehicle and ran a quick scan and it only gave a Battery and Steering Sensor error code. Nothing about the Body Control Modul or the Central Junction Box. Any idea what the issue could be and what’s the DIY resolution that actually works?

 

Post the actual codes.
What scanner are you using? Do you know what SDD is?
You may need a better scanner tool to see what your looking for.

When asking questions about error codes, the best approach is to post the actual codes and not just descriptions.

You will get a lot of help from knowledgeable and experienced members if you post in the right place and give as much information on an issue as possible.

My mechanic used his scanner and it only showed the Batter and The steering Sensor as faulted error codes. Not sure if I can get him ti retrieve that info.

 

I think you might need a new battery?
How old is the current one?

Without the actual codes we are not able to help much?

The Battery is exactly one year old as of January. The Alternator is one year as of May 20th.
can’t imagine either of them Failing that soon. The Batter is a factory suggested BOSCH $350

 

Looks like you need much better, solid data.

Do proper battery voltage tests.

Get DTC data. Preferably from each module. Actual codes.
