Hi, first time on here, I'm not a huge car person, so I really don't know these things. My dad always helped me, but hes passed now.
I finally have my 2001 x type jaguar back after being overseas for a few years. I need to get a new battery so I can see how many miles my brother put on it before I had someone take it away from him. What battery specifics do I need to know so I can get a new battery and get her started so I can sell her?

 

Firstly, welcome to the Forums.

Any Auto Parts Store (Autozone, etc) will have a listing for their battery for your car. The specs I have for down here will probably confuse the issue.

It is NOT specific to Jaguar, but is of specific size, to fit the box, and terminals correctly orientated, and the CCA will be in the 600ish range.

Get a boring ordinary lead acid battery, not a fancy EFB / AGM one. Make sure you charge it fully (about a 10A overnight) as they tend not to be fully charged (shops claim they are, however).
