windows 7 is the issue, there is a thread around that describes how to run the JTIS in XP mode to get it to work. Sorry, don't have the exact link, but a quick search should turn it up.

K. Westra is correct with his link. I have a new PC i built and installed windows 7 home 64 bit on and it will not run the program. i get it to install but no dice after that. You have to have the professional version for the Virtual PC software.

Good luck and if you find a creative way around it please let me know!!

Not trying to Hijack your thread but, I just bought a 03 S-Type. In with the Owners Manual there are a couple disks. Sure as God made little Green Apples one is the TIS Disk. What is it and why do I need to install in my PC?
Thanks

Tanhands, the TIS is the Jaguar Technician Information System disc, it has oodles of good information, from how to remove your brake calipers, to every electrical schematic, to Diagnostic Trouble Codes for your specific year of car. Also includes diagnostic information that you won't find anywhere else. (and it will save you from having to ask questions, wait for answers, etc from this group) Install, and enjoy!

I would think that if someone were to upload that TIS that a bunch of S-type owners would be happy... not that I in any way condone unauthorized sharing of proprietary data.

There's no problem with availability, just that it won't run on Windows 7 64 bit systems without going for the expensive professional version.................

No worries - It's not unauthorized proprietary data. It's an outdated repair manual that Jaguar never really presented as a product or licensed as intellectual property. So, even if you copy it and use it, it doesn't pass any legal tests of "harming" Jaguar. Now, copying and selling the $400 ++ dollar Nav disc might pass the test a little, for example.

I believe the problem is with the lesser versions of W7, not Ultimate.

The latest edition of PC World has an article on how to open a version of XP within Windows 7.

Would you have a link by any chance? I searched and found only older material.
