E Type V12 cylinder identification
Jag workshop manual diagram clearly shows R/H bank a, L/H bank b, with firing order starting at 1a..
Shouldn't the L/H bank which is the most foward, be bank a, making cylinder 1 left front??
Any help much appreciated
Chris

And except what is is from who? Search results come back with conflicting results. Some say this, some say that, which doesn't really answer my initial question.. I can always pull a plug, crank it over and find it that way I guess
It's irrelevant what side the steering wheel is on, L/H is left, R/H is right..
It's a simple question. Lining the timing mark up should relate to the first cylinder being TDC. Which is Left front, yes, no.. Lol

As I said in the PM some time ago.
It is what it is, and a "double six" is what it is, soooo, bank "A" as we have it, was maybe the prime "bank", and the "B" was siamesed into it, and the engineering logic meant little in the mid '60's.
Pulling a plug to confirm what it is will put your mind at rest, and do no harm anyway.
I gave up loooong ago trying to analyse why any manufacturer did what they did, and just enjoyed the car on the day. If it bugged me that much I got rid of it.
Time for a drink me thinks.

The number 1A is the right front. Sorry that you didn't appreciate my humor.
