Will the VGA port on the PTU output video whether or not Windows is running? I have a blank screen on the PTU, and I want to see if the unit is outputting any video at all during the power on self test (POST), no harddrive installed.
I had a PTU with a BLANK SCREEN so I used an LCD monitor C clamped to the top of the docking station.
I use a Mouse and Keyboard unless you want to 'guess' where to use the touchscreen.

So it will output video to the VGA port even during POST, before Windows starts? I'd ao, that'll make troubleshooting easier.
I had a DEAD PTU so I transferred the good screen from the DEAD PTU to the BLANK PTU and it works normally.
I still leave the LCD monitor on top of the docking station. (I can see both at once)
The VGA output is the same as the touchscreen video.

I finally got a screen on an external monitor, and got the Jaguar software loaded. I got PS2 mouse and keyboard, but there is only one combined port on the PTU (I don't have a base station). Do you use a mouse/keyboard splitter? I tried plugging in two different mice directly, but they just cause beeping sounds, with no movement on screen. WDS is useless without a mouse. Can't get a keyboard to do anything within WDS, but it works fine for Win 95 functions. The touchscreen mouse works, but that is stabbing blindly.

i could never get the mouse to work without the docking station that has two separate ports
Anybody got a parts WDS PTU? I need the heatsink for the processor as circled in the picture. Screws also if you have them. My PTU came in pieces. It works, but overheats and shuts down. Please PM me.
I'm missing the wedge shaped heatsink on top of the processor in the picture entirely. If I had one, I'd definitely use heat sink compound. You have a spare?
I thought the picture was YOUR mother board. I re-read and I understand now that yours is MISSING.
I'm sure I have one, I just need to open the case and remove what you need.

Give a few days to sort all this out.
Jon reached out. I have a fully working WDS. Just missing the docking station. Even rebuilt the battery pack back in the day. Tinkered with it but couldn't get it all the way on...
It's been collecting dust on my shelf. Also found the OBD2 and battery cables.
Been meaning to put it up but no time to tinker w/ it further. Too many projects!!!

I got a serial port mouse at a thrift store today, plugged it in to the PTU, and it worked out of the box, no installation of a driver required. So I have the keyboard plugged into the PS2 port, and the mouse into the serial port. Works great!
