Power run through seats?
'15 F-Type V8S convertible: Trying to remove the seats for a recover, but once I disconnected the seats, and then reconnected the battery, there was no power to car. Trunk and footwell lights worked, but no accessory power (to put top back up.) Does the power run through the seat module, and therefore result in no power once seats are disconnected, or do I have another problem. (I'm going to go through another cycle of battery disconnect, seat connect, and see if the top goes up.....) Thanks!
Doug, not having the F-Type diagrams in front of me, what I think you may be experiencing is that one of the comms busses runs through the seat module and when you unplug the seat, the data cannot make it from one module to another to power the car up. I find this a bad way of wiring the car as it should only take say the body module and the ECU to get power to most of the car. But, lets say that your seat module is between the ECU and the main body module, then when the ECU tries to tell the body module to turn on, the comms would be lost at the seat. The only way to get past this is to install a jumper that would connect the 2 sides of the comms lines together to allow the comms to pass through.
