The code is on a card that comes with all the original paperwork. If you don't have it the dealer can give it to you with the VIN#

 

Don't think your going to be so lucky as to only give the VIN to get the code. Maybe, but don't think so. On most, you have to take the radio out, so the dealer can get the numbers off the back of the radio, then furnish the code. You'll also have to furnish proof that you own the car. Thats for our protection. Also, see your new here, welcome. It'll help tremendously if you'll tell what kind of car you have, so people will know if their giving good information.
