Default Warranty Question / Loaner Vehicle

Hi
A quick question about the Jaguar warranty. If your Jag is at the dealership for service under warranty, does the Jaguar USA warranty "make" the dealer give you a free loaner vehicle? I was told that since my Jaguar was not purchased from them, the answer is no. Only two Jaguar shops in Houston, both owned by Sonic Auto. As you know, they can it there for days on end. I don't care what I get to drive in the interim. This sounds like a bad idea, if a owner moves cities, then he does not get that benefit and has to shell out for a rental. My car was purchased out of state as the dealers did not have the one I wanted.
To my understanding, the other luxury brands don't have this restriction, if in for warranty repair, the brand picks up the cost of the loaner.

thanks!

Dealer giving you BS explanation - there is no difference between "purchased from them" and not insofar as warranty coverage. However, I am not sure if JLR mandates loaner for warranty work - my dealership always gave me one, but in recent years they reduced their loaner fleet a great deal.

The way it was at the dealer I worked for years ago was that the dealer is given an amount of compensation for 'loaners' and rent cars. It is up to the dealer to spend the money the way they want.
Several times the service dept exceeded the budget and there were 'meetings' to straighten things out. (guess some customers went without?)

i dont believe its mandatory for dealers to give loaners. Jaguar Warranty DOES NOT dictate who does or does not get a loaner. it is purely at the dealerships discretion. I once had a dealership that didnt even have loaners, they reimbursed me for a rental car. and i too have been to dealerships that have told me loaner cars are reserved for their own customers

Here in the UK they are called "courtesy cars", and provided as a courtesy by the dealer or shop. For instance, when my daughter thumped her Fiat 500, the repair shop provided a courtesy car for her. I don't think courtesy/loaner cars are a right within the warranty, but the US warranty may be different. Of course if you buy a car from a dealer and take it back for a warranty repair, a car is normally offered. In my case at our local Jaguar dealer, I had a 2007 XJ6 Sovreign in for a heater matrix job and they supplied me with a brand-new XJ6 for a loaner for four days. Must have thought I was a rich man !

I bought my car near San Antonio.
The car is now in Houston. They always gave me a loaner. The car is currently at Jaguar Central Houston for the past 4 months and counting and I got a loaner Day 1
I just asked for a loaner when I request a service appointment. I never had a problem regarding this.
Jaguar Central is Sonic.
BTW my car is still under warranty

Yes I have had warranty work done at several dealers and none of it was done at the selling dealer either?
Now the dealer I did use had a different setup? They had an Enterprise Rental Car counter inside the dealership. So that was a separate business and the dealer just sent you over to the rental counter to get a loaner.

I signed the papers just like renting a car but I never paid anything. I did NOT get a JLR loaner car but it was a free loaner so I was happy.
