Default Help Identifying Exhaust System

I have a friend who's father passed and he was cleaning out the house. He found this jaguar exhaust system in the garage but after both of us looking at it, we still can't identify what model or year this came off of. Does anyone know the answer?

Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Not sure how much this helps, but I found this which differs from the part # above by the last two letters

JAGUAR X TYPE 2.0 DIESEL EXHAUST REAR SILENCER BACK BOX | eBay

So maybe it is off an x-type?

Michael

Thanks for finding that.

It seems like its from an X-type as the 4X43 denotes. There has to be some way of deciphering Jaguar part numbers based on model and year type but I can't find out any type of guide on the internet. When I look on American Jaguar parts dealers' websites for part number 4X43-5K244-AA nothing comes up. The closest thing I get in a general search seems to come up in England or Germany. I'll have to call a parts dealer and see if they can look it up.

I ran the part number correctly and this indeed is for an XType

X-Type diesels never had a dual exhaust, always just a single muffler...

I'd say that's a late-model 2.5/3.0 X-Type exhaust setup. Here's the early setup, notice the shape of the mufflers:

Here's a "2008 muffler":
