Default Altering profile....

Would some kind person tell me how to change the e-mail address on my profile here? My AOL one which sends me notice of this site's contributions has been playing up for a good while, and now won't accept my user name and password. So I cannot communicate with them at all. I have another e-mail address to put on here.
Thanks in anticipation,
Leedsman.

Just click on the user cp link in the black bar at the top of the page then click on "Edit Your Details" in the list at the side, you will then get the option to edit your email, put in the new one and save changes and you should be done.

Thank you Norri, but things are not so simple. Did what you said but I'm "not done". The site sent an e-mail (to my new address) about changing my password before proceeding. It looks complicated, but I'll try.
I've a feeling I'll be in touch again...

I changed my eMail address this morning using the forum dialogue box. To do this, I had to enter my forum password:

Not the real details shown in this screen shot!

Didn't receive an eMail from the forum when I changed it to one of my other eMail addresses or when I changed it back to the original.

I've sent a test eMail to you through the forum so you can check which address you now have active for forum notifications.

Thank you very much GGG, I confirm it's working ok now, and I didn't have to do anything.
Incidentally, now I've been made to look into this AOL problem, I notice many sites I use are banning AOL e-mail accounts. Wonder why? I can't complain as it's been a free service, but rather suspiciously, the failure to register page had a very bold advert for pay-for accounts with AOL....
As you seem au fey with this kind of thing, what would you advise/suggest as a back-up to my Google mail?

Good to hear it's working. Thanks for the confirmation.

I use a free Hotmail account for the forum and nothing else. We're pretty secure here because members can't see your eMail address unless you use the option to send them an eMail in which event it does display to the recipient. If you want to run only a single eMail account and have it registered with the forum, there is little risk.

I have a Gmail account used for another forum and never cease to be amazed by the amount of spam. Nothing to do with anything done by that forum, it just appears to be an unavoidable side of Gmail.
