Default Dear Webmaster: problems with iOS on an iPad mini.

Your site's Ad Server is crash-tastic when used with iOS on an iPad mini.

This makes it impossible to read the ads, let alone the site content.

I feel certain you would wish to reassure your clients that it is possible for visitors to the site to read their adverts...

HTH.

I've moved your post from Off Topic to Jaguar Forums Feedback & Suggestion Center. This is the place to raise issues with site availability/performance.

Me too... I just bought an iPad Pro to replace my MacBook and the crashes are unbearable on this site. Some topics won't even load at all... It just keeps going in an infinite loop of crashing and reloading. Please take a look and see if there is anything you can do to make the forums more iOS friendly. Thanks!

We appreciate the feedback. Over the past couple weeks, we've been working to isolate and remove specific ads that hurt site performance on devices like iPads. Are there any specific threads/pages where you've found the ads to be especially problematic? If so, can you please provide me with a link to them?

Thank you!

A perfect example is this topic right here! I only have a few seconds before the page reloads but here is a screenshot of the last thing I see before it goes...

The banner at the top is the slowest to load and causes the most reloads.

The box at the top of the column adverts on the right page is also slow to load.

Featured Sponsors section appears to be okay.

Then there's the full width thing that floats up from the bottom and covers half the page if I'm not logged in. Doesn't appear to cause crashes, but does make me switch sites.

HTH

I see zero ads on my windows machines thanks to adblock. Is there a similar app for iOS devices?

Thanks for the examples. Some of the ads you're seeing, such as the "Automotive Articles" box, are currently not displaying correctly, thus using more resources than they're supposed to. We're working on a fix now.

I also encourage you to log into your account whenever browsing the forums. This automatically removes a lot of the ads you're seeing, such as the one that appears along the bottom as you scroll. It also hides the "Ask a Question" box that pops up in the bottom-right corner.
