Facebook links don't work

Facebook links don't work
When I try to link to a public Facebook photo album the Jaguarforums site changes my URL. One new member ran across this problem the other day, and I discovered it for myself today in a PM.
New member thread here: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...1st-jag-94616/
What happens: I post the public link, either directly or using the "link button" on the editor, and it works in preview, but then doesn't work after it is posted. And the weird thing is, if I "quote" the original post, I can see the correct URL is still there. But this is not the URL that jaguarforums tries to send you to when you click it.
Attachment is a screen shot of me quoting the OP. I can copy and paste the URL into a new window and it works, so there is no problem with the original URL.
I post to let others know that Facebook links don't work, so they don't keep posting thinking they're doing something wrong.

Jay I don't do FB, but I find that with the https, FB requires me to become a member before I can see anything.
Otherwise, all I see is FB page unavailable, this not only from here, but in general.
I'm guessing that part of the problem is that you are posting a link only available to logged in users or Cookie Set users of FB.
One solution, would be to move your photo albums to a FREE hosting/sharing site and link from there. Mediafire, Photobucket, Dropbox....
As I say, I don't have an account with FB, so that's as far as I can go.

Thanks for the reply, Richard. You're not on Facebook??
People can create public photo albums on Facebook, which is nice because they are really easy and cleanly organized, and any updates are automatically sent to your Facebook "Friends". Better than many of the flicker/photobucket (I use them, too--my sig pic is hosted on photobucket) websites in many ways, but worse in other ways. Anyway, these albums usually can be shared publicly (to non-members) with a simple link, but the JF interface changes it.
Since I can't type URLs in the text of the post I'll shorten. My original link had
Path A:
/media/set/?set=a.10151477538468563.1073741825.743938562&type =1&l=5e25af1d96
But if I put it in a post and click it, JF inexplicably sends me to
Path B:
/media/set/?set=a.%3Ca%20href
Which is obviously not the same URL at all, and displays the "page unavailable" message.
You can test it by typing the "https://www.facebook.com" domain into your browser bar and then copy-and-pasting each of the above paths to see the difference.
I just didn't want JF members getting frustrated trying to post unusable facebook links over and over again, thinking they must be doing something wrong. It's not them.

OK I'll give it a try. But I'm not joining....
From first link.
Went to FB site and added your first path to the url. Saw 7 pics, clicked the one with Jags, then right clicked, clicked copy, then back here clicked the image icon and pasted the link.
I have not joined FB, simply lifted the pic from your album.

A very nice line up indeed. I think that I am the only active member in Brittany so my get togethers tend to be a little one sided. Keeps travel costs down though.
Mikey, that's just not right.

I heard the other day that YouTube, Twitter and Facebook will soon merge and be renamed Youtwitface.
