Smile 1st Jag

Hi all. I recently acquired a 1997 XK8 Convertible with just over 96,000 miles on it. I have been perusing this forum ever since. Thanks for all the useful information I found here because the first thing I had to do was fix oil and coolant leaks. Check out this Facebook photo album documenting the project https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?...1&l=2654443be6.

I've always wanted a convertible and now I have one, I love driving this car.

Welcome to the forum JGP_JAG,

Good to hear you've already found useful information here. There will be no need for a link to the XK8/XKR section!

Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You may also like to visit the US Western Region section by following this link Western US - AK CA NV OR UT HI WA ID - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to find other members in your region.

Your Facebook link isn't working unless an account there is required which would rule me out:

Enjoy the forum.

Nice pics jpg_jag - for those unable to open original link - I got the forum email that the post had been updated and was able to view the pics from the link that was embedded in the email - I tried to paste here to help out but the system hides half the characters causing the unavailable issue but try to copy and paste both lines below into a browser it should work:

Yes, his name is Boofer, but he's not very good at giving directions. He does love to go for a ride.

Welcome JGP
Never had a convertible , well it's always raining in Yorkshire.
Have a look at 420G Restoration. Graham helped me.
Enjoy your driving.

My first Jag too. I had convertibles from 1990 until a month ago (1970 Beetle, 1996 del Sol and 2009 MINI. But I love my "new" 2006 S Type. I'll miss the drop top, but I'm a sucker for the look and feel of this car.
Congrats in yours!
