Default Illustrated History of the XK Upload Problems

I have a 2.6meg PDF that I'd like to upload yet it keeps telling me

"Illustrated History of the XK.pdf:
Upload of file failed."

Is it my account restricting the size or ??

I compiled photos and text starting with the SS90 thru the 2013 XK
that I wanted to share...

Help?

Default The Cover is not XK specific

Just a great assortment of Jags...

DJ

and an alternate version of the cover

There are size limits to what can be uploaded and it might be that the file is just over the forum limit.

Perhaps there is some other file sharing site where you can upload the document and then provide us with links to download.

Says a PDF can be up to 9meg....

Does it have to do with my account here?

I've had smaller than 9meg PDFs rejected before and couldn't get it to work without splitting the file.

Maybe one of the mods can comment on what the REAL limit is and if that 9meg thing in the upload dialog is only teasing us.

Hi there, I'm afraid that the file size limits are not what they say they are and the file you're trying to upload is just too large.

As suggested you can host it somewhere and then add a link to the file from there.

the pdf limit is 2 MB per file.

It's possible that the vBulletin settings allow 9.x MB, but the server's PHP settings haven't been updated? Or any number of other possible conflicts, I'm sure.

You could split your 2.6mB PDF into two sections and post as two PDF's to get under the 2mB filesize limit..........

I use Photobucket for all my JFK stuff... but it would not take a pdf ???

I will split into two... not a big deal really, just a fun compilation

Hi, use a hosting site, supply me with the link, and I will add the whole file to JF in one piece.

Credit to yourself of course.

I have a chunk to do this weekend, and adding some history could be good.

All files opened for me. Thanks for this! For those of us new to owning Jags it's nice to have a history of the heritage instead of trying to piece it together from whatever model someone happens to bring to a car show nearby.

Poor XJS gets no love! This and the Pontiac Fiero were my favorite cars in high school. But alas, I could only dream

Can't wait to read in more detail when I have the time. Maybe there's another section where others can better find it?

I've been remiss in not updating this thread. Sorry about that.

The file is available from JF, at this link Interesting Reading.

There are other goodies in there, to help you pass the 'Office Day' LOL
