Question Spin on oil filter

Hi fellow Jag enthusiasts. Mk8, I am considering retrofitting a spin on oil filter adapter. I have been warned that they may not be good due to the restrictive nature of oil flow through the adapter. Has anyone had experience with these in a Mk 8. Some makes may be good? Some bad? Thanks.

I put one on my Mark VII and thought the machining job was high quality. I had not heard any rumors of the flow being restricted but even if it does, having a more efficient filter has to be worth something.
Where are you located? I still have the Telcalemit filter head and spin-on adapter sitting on my shelf looking for a new home.

Thanks Thorsen , I am in NZ. Do I see you post a bit on FB Grace Space and Pace? I would probably deal with Worcester classic spares as I have an account there and can consolidate stuff for shipping.

Loads of the 1950s classics in the UK use them (eg TR 2s and 3s etc). I use one on my Fergy tractor. You will not have supply problems. BUT some of the kits are not that well made and the internal bits of the adaptor can come undone or unscrew where they are not meant to. In this photo, assuming you have the same type of original engine fitting:
TRIUMPH TR3 , TR4 SPIN ON OIL FILTER CONVERSION KIT/ADAPTOR KIT W FILTER - Picture 1 of 1
The smaller threaded part of the adaptor is a press fit into the wider threaded part. The smaller theaded part screws into the original fitting and the spin on filter onto the wider part.
What happened to me on the tractor after some months of use was, when I tried to undo the spin-on from the larger threaded part (and the wide chromed part the spin-on seals up to) the press-fit failed and the entire adaptor, chrome part and all, just turned on the join between the larger and smaller part rather than the spin-on undoing from the wider part.
I removed it and added a touch of weld to the press-fit join and used strong loctite 263 on the small threaded part where it screws into the engine fitting, and all good since.
