Clutch has no hydraulic pressure
My 1959 Mark 1 had a slow clutch fluid leak. Now the pedal has totally has lost pressure. I haven't found a mechanic nearby to either rebuild or replace the clutch cylinder. I live near Fort Worth, Texas. One said you must drop the transmission to get at the clutch cylinder. Does anyone have advice about this?
A new vehicle with a standard have a concentric slave cylinder that is mounted in the centre of the bell housing; that needs the trans dropped to get at it, but not the Jaguar, it's simply mounted on the side, and is operated with a fork.
Whom ever told you that doesn't know what they're talking about, and if that person is a mechanic, I wouldn't go there.

Even an amateur mechanic with an adjustable spanner can remove the slave cylinder from under the car in ten minutes. Buy a new set of seals or even a new slave cylinder and you could have it back on the road in an afternoon.
