Just want to share this with everyone. The right rear door on my '63 MK2 hasn't worked from the outside (works from inside) for the two years that I have owned it and the eight years that the previous owner had it. When I purchased the car in 2016 he told me that the door only opens from inside.
I have never really needed to use the back seat until recently, and being the lazy bugger that I am, I never got around to fixing it.
This week I put it on my "things to do" list. My wife said that it would be nice if all four doors worked correctly.
I was about to remove the window crank, door handle, door card (panel), etc., when I thought that maybe all it needs is some WD40.
Sure enough! I sprayed some WD40 around both sides of the lock button and it worked like a charm.
