Well, back again with more photos, work on the remains is proceeding slowly as I've been left high and dry on the whole process, the actual proper workshop that now has it are being quite helpful.

Got a phone call about the cylinder head, we had been hoping that it could just be reused as it was, but no... too much to expect.

And another shot.

So, for bonus imaginary Internet points( worth exactly nothing) can anyone spot the issue here?

Aside from slight erosion in that combustion chamber the exhaust valves look undersized for the seats???

Yep! Here's a picture from Jon Langleys own website that should help you get your bearings.

Well spotted!

That's truly shocking, how on earth can anyone put the valves in the wrong way around?

Probably the same idiot that got the numbered bearing caps mixed up, how can that happen ?
They probably had some dyslexic kid working on it that day in some sort of job entry program for the mentally challenged.

Indeed it is the very same engine! Nope, not missing anything... the "rebuild" by the well known "expert" on here lasted for 12 miles, heaven knows how it made it that far considering just how badly wrong it was put back together...…..

Hello Sklimii, never heard of you before. I've been awa all day at a cheese and whisky tasting. Seems I missed all the excitement,. You see, the thing is, this whole problem happened _on_ this forum, and will happen _again_ on this forum should you carry on censoring things as I've been told you have been happily exercising the moderator buttons today... (as I said, I missed the excitement... whisky and the like)

Guess what, it's here because it _isn't_ resolved without your input or opinion and being on the forum _might_ help resolve it.. unless of course you're implicit in it..Removing posts on this thread isnae what you want to be doing, well again, maybe you're part of the problem?? As I said, I don't really recognise your username, have you been part of this community long?

And you know what else? ( And this is a lesson I learnt myself from running web forums for about a decade until I got sick of them ) You run this little tiny bit of the Internet, I too own a web server, I too can talk to the magical google machine and feed it SEO terms, I could post all the screenshots that I am told have been taken today (havenae seen them yet to be fair) online with every SEO term I could think of to bring them up in search results next to this forum and you could not do a single thing about that at all...

Anyhoo, guess I better screenshot this eh? Where are the servers hosted at the minute? EU or US?

(I've been quiet until now but random mods deleting posts they know nothing about kind of gets my goat, )

The problem with some moderators is that they are just like involving the police in a civil dispute, they don't care who is right or wrong they just want everyone to shut up.

sadly in a lot of cases this attitude just perpetuates the problem so it gets worse next time.

I am extremely offended that my perfectly reasonable post has been removed, this situation has been going on for months and it's not being resolved off the forum so it needs to be resolved here.

Whatever happened to free speech?

Closing this thread. While I have every sympathy with your plight wearlej, this isn't a battle to be fought here on the forums. It is a matter for the two of you to resolve (especially after 1 year since this happened) without the opinions of other members inflaming an already tense atmosphere rather than allowing it to subside.
