Jaguar MK2 2.4 starter motor
The seats won't slide back far enough to lift the tunnel cover off. The starter spins, but the engine does not turn. The car is a 1967 Mk.2-340 4-speed. I have cleaner and lubricant handy, but I got baffled in the first step. The seat cushions are off, and the seats are at the back of the track. The cover doesn't fit between the seats. I read the rest of this thread. I got the small cover off of the top of the tunnel, only lost one of the small screws. I can't feel or see anything like the starter drive in there. By Braille, a steel dome goes down and to the right. In what direction do I spray the cleaner and lube? I have a compressed air blow gun but don't know where to aim it. The car starts reliably and runs well.

the extra wire is to bypass the firewall solenoid or to allow it.
go to www.britishstarters.com and look at the wiring diagrams to select your wiring preference.
yes I know this is an older thread. Just to update it.
