Jaguar mk2 front seat alternatives?

I'm very happy with my front seats from a 2003 X-type. Decent bolsters to keep my wife and I from sliding from one side to the other.
I paid my indie to do the job. It wasn't cheap. New rails had to be welded in place. Bolster airbags had to be removed. Leather guy had to dye the seats red (originally cream colour). Auto electrician installed toggle switch to operate reclining function. Engineer had to check over entire job and issue an Australian Compliance Certificate to be legal and in case my wife wants to sell the car when I'm gone.
The X-type seats were out of a 2003 that had been in a head-on collision and was written off by the insurance company. They were relatively inexpensive. $AUD350 for the pair. The labour involved was the killer. Total cost including the seats came to $AUD2500.
If you are fortunate enough to be able to do the hard bits yourself, then you can naturally save on the labour cost. At 70 years old, I am past that stage.
I have attached before and after photos.
Cheers,
Stu

I took the entire front and rear seat from a Jaguar Vaden Plas for my 3.8s. You do have to modify the front mounts and for the rear you need to section it about 1 foot. I also upholstered the door panels and carried the design of the seats to the door panels to make it look cleaner and then everything looks like it came factory. I like these seats and love that they have the picnic trays!

You can see the modifications for the seat mounts on the link above.
These seats are so much more comfortable as the stock seats do not provide adequate back and zero heat support.

It is not just the work, those coombs seats are also only half back seats with no head or upper back support; they just have more side bolstering like a racing seat. Remember these are supposed to be comfortable luxury cars. Those are not really comfortable. If you really want more of a snug racing feel you would be way happier getting a upholstery shop to modify the XJ-6 / Vaden Plas seats by changing the side foam to give you that snug race lateral shape.
