Default Old Green Log Books

I have a 1968 S Type Jaguar. Only one other owner from new so I know the history of the car. The car came with loads of paperwork including numerous old MOTs but it came with a modern British V5 log book not the old style green log book it would originally have been issued with.
A couple of years ago I had some replica Tax discs made up for the car for show. They had the original details on including the post office it was first taxed at.
I was wondering if anyone knew where I could get a replica Green style log book from. It needs to be blank so I can fill in the details of my car rather than an old one from another car which would need to be altered. This is very difficult to do due to the watermark print on the old style books which read Vehicleregistration many times across the background.

Do you have a picture of such log book. Presume this was UK specific.

Yes UK spec. All UK cars were issued with them. They used to be a buff colour then in the mid sixties they changed to Green. Then when they changed to computer records the green ones were withdrawn and our new V5 document was issued.
The original green log book was traditionally written by hand and every time you sold the car the new owner would write their details into it and th epost office would stamp over th etop when you taxed the car for the first time in your name.

Here is a photo of one being sold on E Bay at the moment. The car is long gone but the paper work can still be bought. Problem is to buy this one and then try and change the details would be impossible so I am looking for someone who might sell blank reproduction green log books so I can write my cars history into it.

The Good Old Days when nobody minded having their address on the log-book, (or anywhere else, for that matter) !

Just found the one for my Mk2, issued January 1963. The paper (or thin card) is buff or beige. It has 'vehicle registration' printed all over in small letters in pale green ink. You can just about make out the green fine print in the photo two posts up. The 'road tax' for 12 months is written in as £15.

Finding old records, such as your Mk2's registration, is fascinating, especially if it was issued in January 1963. The information you gave, such as the buff or beige color and the £15 annual road tax, provides a window into the past.
