progress on MK2
I have almost finished under the bonnet work and am refitting pieces. The engine is finished and the trans just needs a check up. The rear end has been delivered and cleaned ready for the MK2 brackets. Wiring will be re done with more than two fuses(?) and relays for hi draw items.
I am too dumb to post here....... they are in my albums. I will post there until I get smart enough to upload here.
Love your stuff by the way, I have 12 engines on stands and not one LS, Ford Chevy, Cadillac and some are strokers. I will get a deal (near free).on an LS some day

I see no problems, if you use stock old rams horns or tight fit headers. A GOOD exhaust guy will have no problems, a r&r guy will whine a lot. The front motor plate sets across the frame rail. The back of a Chevy block is 17" wide so the mid mount is shorter.

FYI,
if you opt to put AC like the RetroAir, etc. the air handler will take up the entire space and then some of where the stock battery is located. People either mount the battery in the trunk or in my case I made custom mounts and mounted three batteries under the rear wheel wells where my gas tanks used to be....

Engine is in, tight fit, but in. Pictures when I get back to my desk top. I had to make some adjustments but nothing serious. I may have to bite the bullet and get some coated headers to protect my engine bay paint and make some heat shields and insulate.
Sanderson tight fit headers will be used but are $$$, gathering up sheckles for that purchase. Probably use 2.5" from collectors and maybe long glass pack mufflers? Not a lot of MK2 owners in town to get rid of these extra parts to finance the new stuff. picture of modified xj shifter for 700r4 and modified booster to eliminate pricey hose.
Nice underhood shots. I can't help looking at it and thinking there is room to move that V8 back about 6 inches without too much cutting. Not suggesting you should have done it, but I want to.
foot boxes would have to be cut and gas pedal moved. I am not sure about trans clearance(jag is small). I did mine this way because I really didn't want to cut up the floor since upholstery is fair. The only real advantage would be weight distribution and since I am already much lighter than the Jag I felt it would be a lot of work and little or no gain.
