starting body work on my shell
came with this one panel that was torn off and Taco'd
My body guy got it semi un-taco'd to see where and how it fits on the car.
it appears to be covering the bumper attachment bolts when lined up with its previous installed position.
does anyone have thoughts on this? is this a stock panel or is it something that was added later?
You are just holding it up too high. Traveling today but could get you some measurements tomorrow. Here is a not great photo but will give you a better idea.
That's the rear valence from the thin bumpered 240 /340 / daimler 250, is that correct for your car, it's not the same as Clive's' Mk2 if that's the case.
I can post pics of the 340 version, and yes it does cover the bumper mounting brackets as the bumper mounts are different on the 340 etc. That is stock for those cars and not an afterthought, they are riveted on and welded to the rear wings by the Tonneau panels.
Is this the Daimler shell you mentioned in another thread ?
I would think that the bumper would hide things for the most part, I'm going to grab bumper brackets off the parts car and my bumpers and see how it all looks.
Maybe you have different bumper brackets, the panel covers the fixings but the bumper would not cover them if you look at the pics, the fixings are below the panel, and these would definitely be below the bumper on mine.
If they weren't there would be no point having the wider valence for the Daimler and 240/340 cars.
