Default Rear seat belts in S Type

Hello all. I am hoping someone can advise the thread sizes of the three seat belt mounting points for each rear seat belt. I think i have found the holes. They are threaded and in the right places however it looks a bit like they are all the same size. If anyone knows the thread sizes that would great.
Cheers

That's interesting Tim. Many 1964 cars did not have rear seatbelt mounting points.

Gday Glen. This car has a few interesting aspects to it. Having the factory sunroof is one. Another is that it has an all synchro gearbox which means it would have been one of the first handful of s types that did. Add to that the seat belt mounts and it makes for an interesting car. I am assuming the holes i have found are in fact seat belt holes. They are all threaded and in the exact spots i would expect a 3 point seatbelt to be mounted.

Interesting. So it has the all synch box but from the picture you show of engine/transmission on your thread it has the long tail overdrive that was generally fitted with the Moss GB. My Sync 4 GB has the compact short tail OD.

OK, let me qualify what I said. PO says this was the original gearbox and engine (no so for diff). He said to me on occasions that according to date built and chassis number this would have been one of the first cars to have this gearbox ("if not the first" - his words). I also havent checked the serial number on the GB and compared it to the heritage certificate but I assume PO did (had it out of car) and would have mentioned if it wasnt original. The fact that it had original engine and gb wasnt one of my selection criteria so there was no point in him not being truthful. I guess.Maybe if this was as early as PO suspected then parts were still in a crossover period between old config and new config.

Wouldbe were there plastic plugs in the seat belt holes? Jaguar introduced mount points across their range in 1962 and belts in 1963. While the 'S' is not mentioned in any bulletins the MK2 range is with diagram. As the "S' was built on the MK2 shell it should have gotten the points. As there is no bulletin directly addressing the 'S' it seems reasonable to conclude they would or should have had points. Best of luck.

My car has no rear seatbelt mounting points. Only front! CKD South Africa. The rear tin work is not common with the Mk2. Even the floor pan has differences & different seat pick up points.

Hi George. I have found the three threaded holes as mentioned above and one of them still has a clear plastic grommet in it so it sure sounds like the holes I have found are the ones.

I bought these seat belts with the Jaguar emblem for the rear seats of my Jaguar 3.8s (BF2004/11) https://www.sngbarratt.com/us/#!/Eng...9-28e22ce2f460 and purchased the eye bolts they recommended (BF2005). It works find to provide simple lap belts so the people in the rear have something for safety.
