I am looking for right side front door glass on my 67 420.

Any suggestions welcome.

I have contacted several glass specialists here in the US, but all need a pattern.
I was hoping not to have to strip down the drivers door etc.

you will have to strip the door anyway to start clean.

is it the same glass as the S type?

 

Right, the passenger door will need to disassembled for the new glass, but was hoping not to have to do it to the driver side also.

Yes, the S type was essentially the same as a 420 from the windscreen/shield back. The 420 was a stop gap facelift to improve sales as they were developing the XJ6 and knew it would start production soon.

 

is the glass factory tinted or clear? if you are standing facing the car. is it the right or left side?7

There might be a slight tint to it.

Standing facing the car its the left side.

Sides are normally indicated when you are behind the wheel, in this case, right side front passenger.

 

there was a factory tint option which is sort of light greenish. Clear is clear.

 

Got a 420 here for wrecking, drivers door glass is ok, has a tint film on it but that'll come off.

Lots of other parts avail too if you need other stuff.

No engine, transmission or pedal box, seats are rough, all glass and chrome ok though.
