Default Steering Wheel Install

Seems like an easy one but I can't seem to figure it out. I purchased an aftermarket wheel for my 340 and was told I was sold the correct boss to mount it. The problem is the new wheel will slide down the splines to the point I have a spear pointing to my chest. I have the adjustable column and have tried putting the nut on with the column in but all it's doing is forcing the wheel to the bottom of the splines. The picture shows my original wheel doing the same thing. It was fine until I removed it.

That is definitely not right. The steering wheel should be on the first set of splines with the nut holding it tight in place at this point. I had a spare column that I sold and I can't find any photos I have taken of that or of my column with the steering wheel off.

This is the exploded view from the parts manual which might help to put the parts in the right way.

I agree with Huey P/N 37 missing. That looks like a Moto Lita hub wheel. 9 Bolt/Screw ~ As long as you have a B33 Series hub for it all should be OK.

I have a B33H (black) sitting right in front of me in it's box. To fit one of 4 Nardi wheels made with Moto Lita mounting ~ 15" very shallow dish (4cm). The chap at Nardi wanted them Satin so who was I to argue. Mine is being made high gloss to match the rest of my wood by a genius with wood friend.

Yes thats whats missing, they tend to fall into the column height adjuster and need to be fished out and refitted, I find a little bit of grease is useful for holding them in place.

Grease is a good tip - I actually used a drop of superglue on each half because I got sick of them falling out at the critical moment!!!
