Default What lubricant can I use for power assisted steering?

I have a 1967 S Type Jaguar with power assisted steering - what commercially available lubricant should I use in the oil reservoir?

Thanks

you mean in the power steering FLUID reservoir?

Power Steering Fluid. You can also use Transmission fluid. Type F or equivalent.

I use ATF, Type F or Type FA also.

Thanks both - the original service manual calls it an oil reservoir, but I guess it is the same thing, i.e. item 6 on the service chart.

it is basically the same thing but if you go buy it, some autoparts stores make a distinction between oil (for engine) and fluid (for transmission / power steering).

maybe because transmission fluid and power steering fluid are Red synthetic and oil is golden mineral?

also, ATF means: Automatic Transmission Fluid.

I use Redline Power steering fluid as the standard types had issues due to heat and the Redline works with no issues
