00 XJ8 or 05 X-Type

Hello Everyone,

In searching for a used car to buy I have fallen in love with Jags and now I'm trying to decide between a '00 XJ8 Vanden Plas with 54,000 miles for 8900$ or a 2005 X-Type Vanden Plas with 54,000 miles for 14,900$. They're both in good condition though the '00 seems to have been taken better care of.

I don't drive much and I'm looking for a reliable car, with class of course.

If you can swing $15k you might be able to find an 04 X350, or I would look at an 03 XJ8.

On the other hand I would MUCH rather have an X300 over an early XJ8.

I 2nd that w/ rld on the X300 matter . I like X Types too but XJ is more Jaguar in every way

Thanks everyone for you input, I am definitely going to get an XJ8 now.

Cadillac and Rld14 what do you like better about the x300?

mcgaryb , why I like better is (all personal ) design wise like those
full accrossed chrome bumper trims , 6 way gauges unlike 3 as X308s have , strong and quite reliable AJL6 engine or V12 (if you don't mind fuel cost) , door panels and striped door wood trims ,door handles .
