Default 05 XJ8 VDP what is it worth?

Hello. Planning to sell my 2005 XJ8 Vanden Plas when it warms up this spring. Haven't watched the market in some time, wondering what is a reasonable price to ask for it, what would be a fair price?

its an 05 XJ8 Vanden Plas with only 47,800 original miles. Seafrost exterior is probably 8/10, white/cream interior is 9/10. It has never seen snow, zero rust, was used as a summer car buy my aunt who stopped driving then I bought it but need to get a car for my daughter. Has had new fuel pump, air shocks, heater core, tires last summer. Lived a pampered life. The only flaw on the body is a tiny chip in rear bumper and some barely visable dimples in the hood, what can't see them unless you really get at eye level and look. The one night it was left outside in the summer a bear, yes a bear, put his paws on the hood, licked up the windshield and ate one of the wiper arms (had to replace that one). We live outside Pittsburgh but since it was garaged and not driven in the winter (was also cheaper to insure that way) there is no rust on the undercarriage.

what is a reasonable price to ask for it?

Default 05 XJ8 VDP Only time it sees snow

Got the Jag running great with a new OEM fuel pump. Backed out of the garage after a winter detail. Getting her ready to sell when it warms up and there is no salt around. Only 48,500 miles

Hello LnrB. I bought the car from my uncle, they only drove it in the summer and even then not to much. He got sick and let it sit in the garage, I bought it, put money into getting it running well (fuel pump, injectors, oil change, battery, tires, etc). I really love the car, it's gorgeous and for an 05 has very low miles. I intended to keep it as a summer car myself, but my daughter is in school and needs a car, the Jag isn't something practical and I have a couple work vans I drive that aren't a good fit either. Just don't know what to ask for it. Will probably put it on an auction site in the spring, I dont want it to get any salt on it in a PA winter, it was a southern car and then was garaged up here so there is no rust even underneath. A big black bear sat on the hood and ate one of the wiper arms, that is a funny picture. But it only left one tiny dimple from a claw. it's hard to see but there. The Jag wiper arm and blades sure weren't cheap. Had to use a Jag OEM fuel pump ($980) none of the aftermarket ones fit correctly and didn't want to sacrifice any performance. it had airbags and a heater core in 2019. i would have done coil overs but my uncle want to keep it all stock.

I usually look at other sale sites, Craigs List, Bring A Trailer, Wheels and Deals etc., to get a feel for whatever I'm selling might reasonably go for and work from there.

Remember though, whatever number you post, most people will look at that as *Asking* and offer you less; Much less sometimes. So, whatever you post as Asking, you can Always come down when dealing until you're satisfied but if they jump too quick it's pretty hard to go up.

Be sure to keep all receipts and paperwork you an lay hands on as Documentation always means better selling price.
