Default 1987 XJS Coupe, 5.3L HE V12 - Hello from Ontario, Canada

Hi,
I inherited an 87 XJS Coupe from my grandfather (who is still alive thankfully).
He had it for 30 years and was pretty diligent about taking care of it. It was his daily driver in the early 90's. Never winter driven.

I know he spent a ton of money fixing gremlins in the cooling and electrical system.

I absolutely love the crap out of the car and my goal is to convert it into a reliable daily driver in the summer.

There some issues with the idle (rough idle) that i'm going to solve through the power of the internet and hopefully this community.

I'm a car newb (I know automotive basics like..how a normal modern car works, approximately), but doing some reading on the XJS scares the jeebers out of me.
I'm a hands on learner, a biochemist in the nuclear/mining water industry, and ive built/designed/invented stuff before so i think learning this car is within my capacity.

Anyways, looking forward to getting to know the members and stuff.

I love Jags!

Thank you Grant, i've read all your sticky articles on the XJS. The coolant and refurbishment articles were very useful
