Default 1992 XJS 4.0 5-speed 179,000 km

I have been searching for an older (70s to early 90s) summer cruiser. I have looked at Bimmers, Benzes, Miatas, MR2 and some Nissans. When I saw the ad for this Jag last month, I had a feeling it would be the one. It oozes charm and old school sensibility with the advantages of the facelift. I love GT coupes and the manual transmission is a huge bonus. I am going to have to fight very hard not to put too much mileage on this.... Every time I take it out, I have a huge grin....

Welcome to the forum philippeb,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums. Lucky to find one with manual transmission!

I can see you've already found your way to the XJS tech forum so there's no need for a link to it from me.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the Canada Region forum by following this link Canada - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Welcome, Phillipe. Don't be too concerned about racking up the miles. These cars love to be driven. If your XJS is anything like my XK8, it does better when I drive it more.

I think you can compare the Jaguar with a BMW 7-series, I got a 7-series and I'm doing about 30.000 miles a year. Just with normal maintenance it is running as sweet as ever.

Just drive it, that's what it was made for.
