been trying to fix my heat for a few weeks now after buying a 1997 xj6L, it is winter here and the car will only blow cold air (close to what temperature the air is outside), the inlet hose going to my heater core gets warm after turning the heat on max however the outlet hose going to my pump is neither hot or cold. the guy told me the in cabin air sensor was broken however when i put heat to it the ohms began to drop which i believe is what you want to happen, i replaced the thermostat, began to flush my heater core which came out looking like brand new coolant so i stopped the flush, checked the brushes inside the heater pump which looked perfectly fine, however when i have the heat on i cannot feel or hear buzzing coming from said pump, my ambient air temp sensor reads a few degrees warmer than the actual temperature, and my coolant level fluctuates a ton before i start my car and while it is running (sometimes itll be below the min line, other times it will be right below the max). if anyone has any idea of something else i can try that would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!
When you have eliminated coolant flow issues as the possible cause, sticking flaps in the AC/Heater unit is the next one to investigate. Failed servo motors can leave them closed so there's no heat output.

Hey Graham, sorry for such a late reply. I ended up replacing both the servo motors located on the drivers (LHD) side of the HVAC unit. No difference in air temp output. Been trying to find out if there are more than those two servo motors on my car but can't find any info. If you know the correct number of blend door actuators my car has (1997 xj6L) that would awesome. Also curious, even though my in car temp sensor reads correct ohms for the heat applied could it be a possibility that it is somehow telling my HVAC unit that the cabin is at the correct temp? And if so how would a guy go about fixing that? Thanks again.
