2000 xkr convertable
New Member, can't remember if I did this or not.

2000 XKR CONVERTABLE, British Racing Green Metallic, Beige Top and Interior.
As an introduction my first post was "BIG BOOM LOTS OF SMOKE" which everyone helped with. I am still having cooling problems. The rad shroud was essentially toast (falling apart from age) and was replaced with used unit that included fans with motors. Ran the fan a bit and they worked great. Put them in and as soon as I went for a ride with the wife AC started blowing hot air. Which was not the case when I left the repair shop. Car sat a couple of days and took the wife for a Doctors visit. Riding in summer here with the top down is at best, bearable on the interstates but not in traffic.
Well when the AC started blowing hot I pulled over and thr right fan was going slowly and the left not turning. I let the car cool while the wife saw the doc for an hour with the hood open. Started it up and no fans were running. The needle stayed below the midway while I was moving down the street at35-45 but would edge towards the middle till fully staying there by the time I got to the repair shop neither fan worked. Still in a quandary as to what to do. I have the thread going.
Well I guess I am introduced

Welcome.
The s/hand track is often the most expensive in real time.
New fans, done once, sensors for said fans (if there are more than one), car is back to spec, and you and wifey are happy once more.
Overheating one of those alloy V8's is not the best laid plan.

Welcome to the forum Wayne,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.
I know you've already found your way to the XK8/XKR tech forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.
Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
You can also visit the USA Lower Atlantic Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/usa-lower-atlantic-nc-sc-fl-ga-66/ to find other members in your region.
