Hi,
Can anyone recommend the coolant I should use for my convertible?
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forums Jim,

When your XK8 was built, the cooling system was filled with a mixture of 50% plain water and 50% coolant conforming to specification ESD-M97B49-A. By the end of XK8 production in 2005, this had changed to specification WSS M97B44–D Extended Life Coolant. The current Jaguar coolant specification is a mixture of 50% water and 50% coolant meeting Jaguar Land Rover specification STJLR.651.5003.

Depending on previous owners, your XK8 could be filled with anything in the way of coolant at an unknown concentration. I'd recommend drain, flush and refill at 50/50 with your preferred brand of OAT Extended Life coolant meeting specification WSS M97B44–D. From most manufacturers, this is now coloured red.

Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xk8-xkr-x100-17/ to the XK8/XKR forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. Happy to be aboard.
Not a hard core car enthusiast, but a friend from TX was looking to get rid of the car because he never drove it. Only has 37k miles and is in perfect shape. Very enjoyable.

Thx all. I'm having the coolant flushed this week with the proper spec coolant.
also, apologies for posting a marketplace item and not understanding the rules for newcomers.

Good advice and yes it's just plain ol Dex-Cool. Cheap and you can get it anywhere.
