Default British cars and me

I have been a lover of British sports cars from my early college days, nearly 60 years ago. I owned Austin Healys (2), MGBs (also 2, one of which I rebuilt several years ago), and when I could finally afford it, more than 40 years ago, I bought my first Jaguar, a used 1966 XKE, my dream car. I loved its lines and especially the rear bumper and exhaust configuration of that year, which I thought was the best they had done up to then (and better than they did after). I was new to Florida then and spent more than I want to remember trying to keep that car from overheating, which it did with maddening regularity. Still, I never lost my love for the marque, and when I found my present car in May, 2002, a 2001 XKR, brought to the US as a used car from a lot of unsold cars sent to Canada with 25 miles on the odometer, I jumped. My car has not been without its problems, but after several fixes, it now has 90k miles, is dependable, and has continued to be a wonderfully exciting car to drive.

Welcome to the forum ausabbob,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

I can see you have alreeady found your way to the XK8/XKR tech forum so there's no need for a link to it from me.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the US Lower Atlantic Region forum by following this link USA Lower Atlantic - NC SC FL GA - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum
