Hello fellow Jaguar enthusiasts!
I’m relatively new to the Jaguar world, but I’ve been hooked since I purchased my first Jag about three years ago—a 2011 Jaguar XF Premium.. It had just 26,000 miles on it when I got it, and I’ve added another 45,000 miles since then. There have been a few ups and downs, but my XF has never left me stranded. I absolutely love the ride and the power; it’s been an incredible introduction to the Jaguar family.
The XF was my way of dipping my toes in, but it was always just a stepping stone. For the past six years, I’ve had my sights set on an F-Type R, but with a growing family, it just wasn’t the right time for a 2-seater. Now, with the kids a bit older, a bit more wisdom under my belt, and in a more comfortable financial position, I’ve finally made the jump. Yesterday, I purchased a 2019 F-Type SVR.
I haven’t even seen it in person yet since it was an online purchase. It’s currently being transported from the JLR dealership to me, and I have to admit, I’m feeling a mix of excitement and nerves about the whole process. The dealership provided a great video, a clean Carfax, and it seems well-maintained, with new tires, pads, and rotors all the way around. I am hoping that since it is coming from a JLR dealership that they truly looked it over for issues prior to selling it. I know I won’t truly relax until it’s safely off the truck and sitting in my driveway.
This has been a six-year goal of mine. I can’t count how many photos and videos I’ve looked at during that time. Within 30 days of starting my first independent business venture, I printed an SVR on canvas and hung it on my goal wall in my office. Now, I can’t wait to move that picture to my accomplishments wall when the car finally arrives. You could say it is a testament to the power of vision, goals, and perseverance—at least that’s how I see it.
What’s even crazier? I’ve never ridden in or driven an F-Type, so I’ve technically bought a car I’ve never experienced, sight unseen, from a remote dealership, and it’s set to be delivered in a few days. What was I thinking, right? But sometimes, you’ve just got to go for it.
I’m really looking forward to learning more about everything Jaguar from all of you and, of course, getting behind the wheel of my SVR. Here’s to new adventures!
