CHAL
I live in North Wales and have a long time association with XJ40's, the current Daimler variant for around 20 years. I have done most of it's maintenance and repairs, mechanical and body work, tin bashing and welding amongst other things such as wood work and leatherwork. Electrics I am not very good at. I also have a XJ6 series III and an XJ-S V12 for similar a similar time span as the Daimler.

I've moved your question about the pinion oil seal to XJ40 forum for advice from members with the same model. Here's the direct link to it:

Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xj40-xj81-25/ to the main XJ40 forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the UK & Eire Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/uk-eire-68/ to find other members in your region.
