Default Chicago Jaguar

Hi, my name is Rob.

I own a 2004 S-Type 4.2L, Radiance/Sand with the sport package. I purchased it mid July. It is a one owner car with about 90,000 miles on it.

This isn't my first Jaguar. In the mid 90s, I owned a 88 Jaguar XJ6 but had to let it go because it was going to need a full brake job. I couldn't afford the $2000 average quote I was getting from various places. About a month after I let it go, I got a big raise at work and I could have afforded the brake work. There has hardly been a day that passed that I didn't kick myself over that.

Well, I can stop kicking myself now.

Hello, Rob,
I'm astonished you were quoted $2000 for a mere brake job! But then, I've been isolated from the Real World of auto repairs as I've done most everything myself I was 16 and I've never lived in a Big City.

Oh well, you have another kitty. Congratulations on that.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Welcome to the forum Arelem,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

I can see you've already found your way to the S-Type forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the US Midwest Region forum by following this link
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/us-midwest-39/ to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

From one S-type owner to another... Welcome!

The S-type forum is populated with some very sharp owners and a couple of Jaguar techs too, so it is a great source of information on our series.
