Default Clutch problem

Hi guys
I've recently just bought 2004 2 ltr diesel X-Type after buying I noticed a judder on the clutch pedal just as I started to push it in,more of a vibration really it didn't affect the gear change and only happened at the top half of the pedal , I assumed it was just a clutch plate problem but wasn't sure. I've driven it for about 100 mile and then whilst driving I put my foot on the clutch to change down gear and the peddle it never came up I managed to keep it in second gear and limp home in second gear without using the clutch and after checking a few bits and bobs I noticed the brake fluid reservoir was virtually empty I'm not too sure if the clutch is gone the master cylinder has gone or what's gone any you guys can give me a hand thanks QUICK UPDATE I have filled the reservoir and it drained can't see where from so I'm assuming slave or master cylinders, hope it's one of these unless it's something else

Welcome to the Forums.

Lack of fluid is not good, and I would at least refill it, and see where its dripping from.

The members in the X Type Tech Section will have better suggestions I am sure.

Good luck.

Welcome to the forums Garry,

I can see you've already found your way to the X-Type forum with this question so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Please add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also use the UK & Eire Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/uk-eire-68/ to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham
