Confirmed Anglophile car lover and new member ...
Hi, I bought a new XF AWD last month and posted a few times already in that forum before finally figuring out I needed to post an intro here.
I've driven Brit cars most of my life and generally had good luck and a lot of fun with them. My dad got me started when he bought a Triumph TR3 and then a '68 S1.5 E-Type when I was a kid.
My first was a '72 XJ6 in the mid 80s, as a 2nd car, but although it looked good, it rusted out from underneath me! Then I purchased a '74 E-Type conv. in '87 (just before the prices spiked), and I still have it -- and still luv it!
Had a Sterling for my everyday car in late 80s thru mid 90s before giving it to my new bride when I found a well-preserved '75 XJC, which I put back on the road as my daily driver until '99, when I bought a select edition '96 XJR.
I put 145k miles on the R before retiring it last month for the XF AWD. Somewhere in there, I also acquired a '94 XJS conv. with a manual factory 5-speed, which I still own and thoroughly enjoy.
I've also owned two Triumph TR6s, both pimento in color and great cars, but sadly, I sold them long ago. And my dad finally eneded up where he started, with a TR3, an all original '59, which we tinker on when he's up to it.
My wife has had several American SUVs but is now in a '08 Land Rover LR3, which we really like, even though it's a pig on fuel. I've never owned a Japanese or German car -- not that I didn't care to, but alway found a Brit car I liked better.
The only American cars I've ever owned as daily drivers came along in college, a '57 Chevy conv. and then a '72 Mustang 351 Cleveland conv. The Chevy was junk but the Mustang was a nice car, after I finally put radials on it!
I tend to take very good care of my cars and then have a hard time parting with them. My old '75 XJC now belongs to a nearby friend -- so I can check on her occasionally -- and I'm in the process of selling my '96 XJR to another friend.
My "non-Brit-car" friends think I'm a little nuts, but cars are more than appliances to me, and I like to make driving interesting -- plus, I've had few problems with my Brit cars so I've stuck with them.

Welcome to Jaguar Forums jagJonz,
Good to have you here with us at Jaguar Forums. Thanks for a great Intro.
That's an excellent range of vehicles past and present. I know exactly what you mean about the LR. My last was a Series III 12 Seater Safari and I wouldn't like to fill tank on that at today's prices!
Enjoy the forums.
Graham
