Welcome to the forum Cork,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums. This is a regular issue but $6000 is an irregular cost. Do some reading and save lots of $$'s.

Follow this link
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xk8-xkr-x100-17/ to the XK8/XKR forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Please add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the US Northeast Region forum by following this link

Enjoy the forums.

Hello, Cork,
I'm a bit astonished that modern convertibles have such a weak spot. We read about that quite a lot on here.
Of course, my last convertible was a Classic Datsun Roadster, which, if I wanted the top up, I had to pull it up by hand. No green juice anywhere. I'm sorry this has happened to you.

I hope you get it fixed for a Lot less than even $3000!

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

welcome to the forum - check out Cabriolet Hydraulics or Tops online for replacement hoses - you can get a complete set of better quality, higher rated hoses for under $600, then replace yourself or a good indie can do for about $1200 enjoy!!!

Post the Indie question in US Northeast Region forum asking for recommendations.
