CYILV3 2005/xj8l 4.2
Hello Everyone,
My car is a, XJ8L 2005 4.2 Mileage 134,000. I reside in Atlanta.
I have had few major repairs such as replacing the transmission coolant lines and radiator.
Major problem now is repairing the power steering. I was informed that the power steering oil cooling assembly needs replacing by mechanic.
I am happy with my vehicle and I have always used this site as a source of education about my car.
Thank you, CYILV3

Welcome to the forum CYILV3,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.
That's a strange diagnosis by your mechanic. When you posted that the steering won't turn, the most obvious cause would be the Power Steering Pump. Members with the same model will be able to advise and will probably prompt you for more details on the work already done to the vehicle.
The X350 forum (XJ XJ8 / XJR ( X308 ) - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum) is the correct place for technical questions about your model. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.
Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
You can also visit the US Lower Atlantic Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/usa-lower-atlantic-nc-sc-fl-ga-66/ to find other members in your region.
Enjoy the forums.
