Default Doing my research

Went to Death Valley last week. 116F. While there, my door locks and trunk lock began malfunctioning. I've read a lot of posts on a lot sites and have seen either driver's or passenger's door lock actuator listed as the cause.
Had the car in to local Jag service dept. After a very expensive estimate, they offered to replace rear body ecu as offending item, with no guarantee that would fix the problem. I declined and am now a registered member of this forum.

Hoping to learn something from you folks before I start dismantling the Jag...

btw - I did see an incomplete post on this forum from June of last year describing almost the exact same thing. I'll keep reading.

On a happy note, the A/C on my 12 year old S type performed flawlessly in the desert!

Cheers

Welcome to the forum,

Good to know Jaguar A/C will perform at 116F although the opportunity for testing this is extremely unlikely in my part of the World!

A wise decision to reject the kind offer from you local service depot. If you post the door lock question in S-Type / S type R Supercharged V8 - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum section, I'm sure the resident experts will come up with a more cost effective solution.

Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User ID button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Hi PDXJAG
Seriously, 116 degrees and you are complaining!
Welcome from Waterworld!

Welcome to the forum.

Good to see you.

The only way I could test that would be to put it in the oven.

Humidity integrity, not a problem.

Welcome to the forum,

Good to have you with us.
They don't call it Death Valley for nothing!
Post up all the details in the S Type section.
Is this a fob malfunction or with the buttons also?

If you haven't done so already you should add your car details to your signature to help others to help you.

Arrow Moved the thread to the right place

Hello again friends!
I moved the thread to the s type/ s type r supercharged section. Link below -

Please take a look when you can and contribute to my future success story solving this issue. I've done a simple test recommended by Joycesjag and added a little info that I recalled from talking with the dealer.

Thanks!
