Default Engine rattling

Hey guys,
I ran out of oil. I filled it but I drove about 50 miles without or low level oil. After filling I am hearing rattling sound . When I accelerate, I am getting more sound. Could please solve this sound and tell me what will be the possible problem... Thank you

Your problem is you ran your engine without oil and Killed it! The noise is a Dead Giveaway. We call it the Death Rattle.

Solution, probably you'll need at least a new crank, new rods, maybe new pistons, and for sure new cam, lifters etc. etc.
Probably cheaper to just figure on a new engine.
Another car may be cheaper yet.

Welcome to the forums REVANTH KUMAR,

Sad to say but Elinor has summed up the likely scenario in her post #2.

Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...ed-v8-x200-15/ to the S-Type forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Please add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

If that was the case , I am hearing sound while starting and while accelerating but not while moving idle. I should also hear while moving on idle right ?

Not necessarily, as the "load" on any engine at idle is very low and would not always make a rattling/knocking noise.

Start up, yes, as most "modern" engine start at about 1200rpm, before settling to proper idle, hot or cold.

I think this needs to continue in the S Type section Graham has directed you to, and again, what engine are we dealing with???
