Talking First Jaguar/New member

Hello, I recently purchased my first Jaguar (or Ford from what I'm learning). It is a 2002 Jaguar X-Type with the 2.5L engine. The original owner hit a deer with it and then parked it. I showed interest in it and he offered it to me for $500.00. He also told me it would not idle. I jumped on the price and had it running smoothly for less then $20.00 by replacing the PCV hose. I love the car, the way it runs and drives is awesome. Recently put a hood and left side fender on it and I am getting a bumper cover tomorrow. This will take care of the deer hitting issues. I am excited to be a member of this forum to help with a few other issues I have encountered, one of which I have already started a thread about and hopefully as I learn more about these vehicles I will be able to help others. Thanks in advance, David S.

Hello, Dave,
Congratulations on your new Jaguar (or, Forduar as some owners call them).
$500 for a running car of any sort is a good deal in these parts!

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Welcome to the forum David,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

I can see you've already found your way to the X-Type forum so there's no need for a link to it from me.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the US Southern Midwest Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/u...rn-midwest-67/
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham
