Default First time Jag owner

Howdy y'all. Live near Detroit and grew up restoring 60s American muscle. My whole family works for GM and buying a Jag kind of makes me a traitor. Very few foreign cars even found here and none in my family.

But my family is British in origin, coming to America in 1535. And I just tell everyone Ford built my car. Besides, it is a 400hp supercharged land rocket, not a car. I still don't think I am forgiven lol! To be fair, I have told everyone since I was in elementary school that if I bought a foreign car it would be a Jag. So this is a bit like fulfilling a childhood dream.

I bought a car 700 miles away and I go to trailer it back in 2 days. I feel like a kid on Christmas morning.

Wish me luck, I got a super clean STR for a song because when you give it too much gas, it goes into limp mode temporarily. I honestly look forward to the challenge but I know I have my work cut out for me.

I am a travelling evangelist these days and can't wait to show up at a speaking engagement making a statement with my land rocket. Shout out to my wife for letting me get a project , a toy, and fulfill a dream . Thanks to all of you for letting me in the club lol. I am sure i will see y'all around

Welcome to the Forums.

"Land Rocket", I like that, so appropriate.

Good luck.

In the classic car hobby, its that way here in Fort Worth. Seems like I go to some local car shows and everyone has a family member or close friend who was laid off from the GM Arlington plant in the 1970s or 80s and carries a grudge against Toyota (I also have a Supra and have to be careful which shows I take it to.) But Jaguar was never considered a threat to GM sales so they always appear to be perfectly welcome.
