First time Jaguar owner
Hello All,
My name is Michael Johansen and I have just recently bought my first Jaguar, a 1997 X300 Daimler Six in Sapphire Blue with 164.000km on the clock. The car seems to be in good mechanical shape and with minimum corrosion. Owning a sleek and powerful Jaguar XJ has been a dream for me for many years. My romance with British cars started with the ownership of my 1967 MGB, which I still enjoy during the summertime. I opted for an X300 with the 4.0 straight six because of the model's reputation of reliability, since I hope to be able to use the car as a daily driver, provided the running costs are manageable for me. Also, I hope to do some touring around Europe in the car. Apart from cleaning the car, I do not plan on doing any maintenance on the car myself due to lack of time and skills.
The first planned work to be done on the car is a major, corrosion protection treatment of the underbody and cavities of the car. Hopefully, this will protect the car sufficiently for driving on salty roads during the wintertime.
In these forums, I look forward to reading and sharing experiences from living with Jaguar cars.
Best Regards,
Michael Johansen

Welcome to the forums Michael,
A good choice for a first Jaguar. The Daimler variant is rare and very desireable. I put over 100K miles on mine (Jaguar) with little more than routine maintenance.
Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xj-xj6-xjr6-x300-26/ to the X300 forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the Europe Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/europe-42/ to find other members in your region.
Enjoy the forums.

Welcome to the community, Michael. Your Daimler Six must be pretty rare in Denmark.
Even if you don't turn wrenches, I think you'll find that doing research on any of your issues in the X300 section will save you money at the service center. You might even find you don't need a mechanic for certain smaller troubles.
The trick is to find that shop that is knowledgeable, trustworthy, and not going to charge extra just because "its a Daimler".
Enjoy the drive!
