First time Jaguar owner
Hello All,
Just thought I'd introduce myself to the club.
My name is Scott, and I am the proud new owner of a 2002 X-Type 3.0 Sport. I'd never considered a Jag in the past as they always seemed "out of reach" for the average Joe.
I recently made a bet with my wife that I could find a "nice" car for under $5k. After entering my search criteria on Craigslist, this sharp looking Quartz X-Type popped up on my screen. I did some research on the X-Type, and then called the owner to have a look at it. Upon inspection, she was stinky and appeared quite neglected, but with only 83k on the clock, I saw the potential in her. After a short test drive, I handed the owner $4700 and drove away with my first Jaguar
Since I got her home, I've been at work getting her back to the way Jaguar intended. So far, I have:
Cleaned and dressed the engine compartment
Cleaned, dressed and defunked the interior
Installed new Lloyds floor mats
Polished the headlight lenses
Polished the exhaust tips
Removed faded window tint and installed new tint
Replaced factory door speakers with better quality
Clayed and waxed the paint - smooth as glass now.
Next on the list is the suspension and brakes...lots of rattles and clacking going on under there. Not to worry, I have been doing my research on the x-type suspension issues, so I should have her quiet and tight very shorty

Welcome to the forum Scott,
That deserves posting some 'before' and 'after' pics.

Thanks for the welcomes and links to information. I know how valuable a good car forum can be, and this one looks like it ranks right up there
I should have, but didn't take any "before" pics, so here are a few "after" pics, taken yesterday......the car was filthy before I got to it.
