Default Florida Boy Loves the X300 Series

Greetings! my name is Dan Friend, and I've loved Triumphs and Jags most of my life. I have three 95 or 96 Jaguar XJs and although they run well 28 year old electric stuff issues are driving me crazy. Something dies almost every week....yet, they are so much fun to drive! I live in Deland, Florida,...my hometown...and as a retired school teacher I have found working with historic preservation and feeding a family of Jags keeps me busy enough!

Feeding a family of automobiles is what keeps me from retiring. Their insurance and "healthcare" expenses are bad enough but what kills me is that they are all such finicky eaters. I've tried to get them to eat that cheap 87 stuff from out front of the big box store, but they won't have none of it. They'll knock like a little baby pounding on their high chair till I feed them what they want. They insist on the most expensive stuff from one of those "top tier" fueling stations. They eat better than I do! Didn't used to be so bad, just 20 or 30 cents more a gallon, but now its a $1.00 more a gallon. They're mostly over 21 now so you'd think they'd move out on their own, but no. They just keep hanging out here with daddy. I should kick them out, but I'd worry about them too much. Separation anxiety I guess. They're going to work me to death tho one day! Glad you managed to retire with kids still living at home. Wish I could.

Hello, Dan,
No one ever thought these cars would last so long. Even those with poor workmanship and fragile parts, still going after 20, 30, 40, 50 years of even longer.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
