Default Gas cap problem

I know this sounds kind of weird. But the first time I opened up the gas cap door with the button in the interior everything went smooth. When I turned the cap counterclockwise to open it I couldn't get the damn thing to pop up. this is the first time anything like this has ever happened to me and I've been driving for 60 years. Is this my imagination that I do something wrong?

Welcome to the Forums.

Not sure of the car you are having issues with, as its not mentioned.

Good luck.

It's it's a 2012 XKR convertible. Around 58,000 mi. My son just drove it down here from the Pacific Northwest. Traded My 2012 Cadillac CTS-V coupe. With 24,000 mi. I went to the gas station the other day. Counterclockwise I turned the gas cap and I couldn't get the damn thing to pop up. After several tries it finally released. Didn't make any sense to me. I'm just wondering if anyone else is experienced anything close to this.

Thanks for that info.

I have no idea, but this is not the Tech Question Area.

I suggest a re-ask in this section

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xk-xkr-x150-33/

Members in your market/area will know.

Good luck.

Welcome to the forums donricardo440,

Good to have you with us.

I'm on my my second XK and never had any trouble removing the fuel filler cap. It doesn't exactly "pop up" - it rotates fully counterclockwise to a stop and then lifts out. However, other members with the same model may have had issues. Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xk-xkr-x150-33/ to the X150 forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the US Lower Atlantic Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/u...r-atlantic-66/ to find other members in your region.

Please add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham
